I Started by removing the large amounts of tar that was on the front arches and lower front door with Auto Glym Tar Remover with a MF cloth. Once I have removed the tar I set about cleaning those alloys and tyres. I hosed them down and then sprayed with Megs wheel brightener and using various brushes and a MF wash mitt plus two normal buckets.

Next, I hosed down the car and then Snowed using Megs Hyperwash and a squirt of Poorboys super slick and suds. Left to dwell for about 6-ish minutes before Hosing off. Washed using 2BM, lambswool wash mitt and Super slick and suds. Hosed off and dried. Reversed into the garage to clay. Each panel I had to clay 2-3 times before removing all the bonded contaminates from the paint. I drove her outside to re-wash with fresh shampoo and water and 'sheeted' off and dried.

Time for some polish and my favorite product for the job, Auto Glym Super Resin Polish which I applied using Megs MF applicator pad (round white ones). Whilst this was drying, I set about on the leather. It is the first car I have had that has had a leather interior, so was a little unsure, but the product I used, was the Raceglaze Leather Care Kit from Polish Bliss. This worked very well and seemed to bring the leather back to life. Plus it smells nice too. Once I had cleaned and feed the leather, I buffed off the SRP using a fresh MF cloth. Next it was time to add some wax. For this I used PoorBoys Nattys paste wax red (LE) that smells of strawberries and a Red/white Lake County German App pad. Left this for about 10-15 minutes before buffing off with a plus coral coloured MF cloth.

Whilst this was curing, I added some poorboys wheel sealant to the alloys using a Megs applicator pad. Buffed this off after removing the wax from the body. Afterwards, I cleaned the windows with Megs NXT window cleaner and a Fresh MF cloth. Dressed the plastic trims with Poorboys Trim Restorer. Vacuumed the interior carpets and boot. Dressed the hard plastics with Poorboys natural look dressing and then dressed the tyres with Blackfire long lasting tyre gel.

I did not need to clean/dress the engine bay as this I did the day after getting the car.

It was a long day cleaning a car as I have not cleaned a car to this level in over a month, so I am going to be a tad sore in the morning, but it was well worth it.

I think I got a much better constancy of hyperwash -not as watery as I usually make it.

AG SRP is good if your paint work is heavily swirled as I believe it is full of fillers.

I miss not having the time to detail my own as much as I did.

Good work though. Reminds me I need to get some more stuff and a bigger bottle for my snowfoam lance.

I normally use 3 parts snowfoam to 1 part hyperwash in the standard size lance bottle.

Yes you are right in saying that AG SRP has fillers to hid light swirling. I like using it as it is very easy on and off.

I think anybody that looks after there car to some degree always wants more products, MF cloths, applicator pads or maybe its just me.

I put 10 plunges of hyperwash + SSAS in the bottle and mixed half full with water.

I don't use Snowfoam all the time, only when I think the car needs it. If you use a good wax, then the dirt should just fall off/away.

Used to be that way but due to my prolonged UK absense I had to throw a couple of layers of collonite on her and leave it. But I am coming back and the full treatment is well overdue. I even have a 6 by 3 metre awning to do it under - fnaar fnaar!!

Thats what I want and awning. Where is the best place to get one that won't break the bank balance?

I am coming back to the UK for good from the end of this month (turning back into a NL tourist)

So if you want to arrange a day in August (on a weekend) - we could look into detailing your phase 2. I have never done one (except for Wegal's S60)

All I would ask is money to cover cost of materials (claybar etc) and you might want to choose a top wax.

Caravan sales shops (they are few & far between) often sell second hand ones at pretty reasonable prices.

Contact one & let them know what size you're looking for. If they don't have one they may source one.

That would be cool. Got any particular date in mind ? I'm away for two weeks in August, so it would probably have to be after I get back...

Thanks for the offer - let me know when's best for you if you have the time!
