I got in my car after a 240 mile trip and i started her up, and the lovely service light was lit up! I cursed and thought nothing more of it, after about 10- mins it went off?!?!? Any ideas why?
Cheers - -Don!

It only stays on for a few minutes, start her up again and the service light will be on!!

service light stays on for a few minites after ignition is switched on when service is due.
it is supposed to be inteligent in terms of mileage driven/driving style etc.
imagine the 240 mile trip made your car think it was due a service.
