in about 5 weeks were moving and im undecided weither to sell the car with a knockin tappet or dismantle it and sell it as spares id only want £600 for it, its got a full service history mainly volvo apart from the last one which i did mot till end of october tax till end of august goes like stink when you want it to but justy dont wanna see her off the road

hmmmm any advice would be

id love to mate but dont think itll go down to well lol as ive got to get a bloody ml270 now to tow the new caravan as the volvo is too light might see if i can hide it at the new house in the garage lol

if its just a noisey tappet,have you thought about trying an engine flush on it,then fresh oil & filter,
usualy helps unless its really bad.

nah been like it for 6 months now i used forte engine flush magnatex oil and new filter and bit quieter but still sounds like a silenced machine gun lol does go after a mile or so but as soon as ya stop it sneaks back lol might try the topend stuff from forte see if that works but if im selling it cant see the point in spending on it

maybe your engine is tired & has very low oil pressure,

use an oil pressure gauge & connect it to your engine,via oil pressure switch.that will giv u a reading,i dont think it will work using the wire from the switch as its just a signal,not an actual pressure.
