Need Some Help Please,I'd Only Been Driving My Car For About 4 Hours Before I Broke It.
I'd Been Ragging It Quite Hard,As You Do To A New Car,For A Couple Of Miles.
I Then Decided To Take It Easy,Just Pulled Away Changed Into Second And The Thing Took Of Like A Scalded Cat And Went Pop!.
Took Me A Few Moments To Find What I Had Done.
I'd Pushed A Core Plug Out Of The Inlet?.
Is This Normal,I Found A Small Hole In The Breather Pipe Elbow That Joins There?.
Who's The Best Place For A Remap?
Its A T5-R,Do These Come As Standard With AP Big Brakes,Stainless Exhaust And Front Coil Overs?

AP brakes aren't standard on a T5R.

As for the best place for a remap it really depends what you want for you money. Many of us will recommend Volvotuning as the service is A1 and £ per BHP its the best value for money (in my opinion) There are plenty of others out there tho!

if the last owner put AP's and a stainless on then i bet its already had a remap.Where does the the in car boost gauge when you nail it,if all the way to the end then its be done already! If you are down south and want a check up go to www.swautos.co.uk very good service.

It would sound like you've got a bit of a beast there!

4 hours, thats impressive destruction ;)

As suggested I would head for a specialist as with the above mods I would be very suprised that it didn't already have a re-map.

Did you not talk to the previous owner?

Where are you? I'm sure someone can recommend a decent trustworthy independant to fix it thats near you.

No,No Quite Happy With Them Thank You.
I'm Down South Near Croydon Way,I Bought It Off Work As A Trade Sale.
The Guy Bought A 3 Week Old ST170.
Its Got A Full Volvo Service History,Last One Being January On 102,000.
Its Now On 104,000.
The Boost Guage Goes Nearly All The Way To The End,Maybe 1/8" From It.
It Rides Quite Firm With Adjustables On The Rear And Coil Overs On The Front,It Has A Volvo Stainless System Already Fitted.

What Would You Do As Your Next Mod,After A Remap/Check.
Strut Braces Front And Rear? Turbo Timer?

Sorry About 'In My House' But Its Not A Great Area I Live In,So I Really Dont Want To Let Thieving Scumbags Know Where My Car Is,Since You Dont See Many T5-R's Where I Live.

hello,
possibly already chipped/remapped, the end of the boost gauge is about 1 bar but thy are not that accurate. or the wastgate acuator has been adjusted. i suggest you get it checked out.
the next stage in tunning is a larger turbo (19t) and a 3 inch downpipe mapped for full benefit. after that an engine rebuild with stonger conrods which are the week point in the t5 engines, but costs are a factor!

p.s volvotuning are the boys to see.though there are others.

I think if you just put a location as in a town people arent going to know exactly were your car is! Plus I doubt you will find many thieving scumbags viewing a Volvo forum.

The car sounds like it could have been played with a bit so as mentioned get it checked and also get a stage 0 tune up done, i.e a full service etc etc.

You can get a front Strut brace from your local Volvo dealer for not alot of wedge and they are a popular upgrade.
