I got back yesterday after a week away across the Lake District in the old girl, and mostly, for a 15 year old car, it ran fault free.
For anyone lucky enough to know or better still live in that part of the world, the roads are fantastic, and provide real variety as opposed to the normal slog my car gets used on.
On the way up, just before I got there, the boost issue I've reported about earlier came back, with no signs of anything being amiss other than being several horses short:mad111:
Luckily as it drinks fuel at reasonable motorway speeds when fully loaded with people and luggage, I checked the hoses for leaks when at the filling station, and gave the actuator rod a wiggle for good measure (Don't ask me why, just happened) and got back on to the next stint. And Wallah, full boost again:D
Got to the lovely lakes, and found that my light fault dash light had come on, along with the windscreen washer light. Was my car starting to have a fit? Oh no.....just needed a bulb and some screenwash:doh:
By the end of the trip, and several hundreds of miles enjoying the sights and roads, the brakes are grumbling a little, the CV joints are clicking a bit more, and rather strangely the car seemed to "overboost", ran off the gauge by 2-3 mm and felt what seemed like a fuel cut off symptoms, but then it's cleared again and is back to usual.
(I'll get a mate to check it over this week)
Funniest thing was today driving locally, when I got to a junction, saw a Police Volvo next to me, indicated to turn, had the indicator switch come off in my hand, and thankfully the T6 sail by unaware of my panic!!:rolling_e
All that way, and it very kindly falls off 5 minutes from my home!!
At least I've got a spare.
Now I look back a few months before I bought the Volvo, and thought of renting an Estate for this holiday. £330 for the week.
So my T5 now looks like good value @ £750:D
