I got back yesterday after a week away across the Lake District in the old girl, and mostly, for a 15 year old car, it ran fault free.
For anyone lucky enough to know or better still live in that part of the world, the roads are fantastic, and provide real variety as opposed to the normal slog my car gets used on.
On the way up, just before I got there, the boost issue I've reported about earlier came back, with no signs of anything being amiss other than being several horses short:mad111:
Luckily as it drinks fuel at reasonable motorway speeds when fully loaded with people and luggage, I checked the hoses for leaks when at the filling station, and gave the actuator rod a wiggle for good measure (Don't ask me why, just happened) and got back on to the next stint. And Wallah, full boost again:D
Got to the lovely lakes, and found that my light fault dash light had come on, along with the windscreen washer light. Was my car starting to have a fit? Oh no.....just needed a bulb and some screenwash:doh:

By the end of the trip, and several hundreds of miles enjoying the sights and roads, the brakes are grumbling a little, the CV joints are clicking a bit more, and rather strangely the car seemed to "overboost", ran off the gauge by 2-3 mm and felt what seemed like a fuel cut off symptoms, but then it's cleared again and is back to usual.
(I'll get a mate to check it over this week)
Funniest thing was today driving locally, when I got to a junction, saw a Police Volvo next to me, indicated to turn, had the indicator switch come off in my hand, and thankfully the T6 sail by unaware of my panic!!:rolling_e

All that way, and it very kindly falls off 5 minutes from my home!!
At least I've got a spare.

Now I look back a few months before I bought the Volvo, and thought of renting an Estate for this holiday. £330 for the week.
So my T5 now looks like good value @ £750:D

Motorway miles and cruising is what these old buses do best :D

I went to the Lakes a lot only living in Morecambe, lovely area, almost as good as Nothern Scotland ;)

Aye, and my 850 CD casually ran up 2000 miles or so on our annual trip to the very North of Scotland - 650 mile over-night runs, stopping only for fuel, and as fast as I could get away with.

Nicely run in at 320000 on the clock :-)

o bloody hell mate... you'll get it sorted.

I've booked to go to the Lake District in September with the missies and my little toddler... we are traveling up in the V50 with a roof box.

Her parents and nan are travelling up behind us in an XJ.

Looking forward to it.

My car was WAY too dirty to take pictures of, so you won't see it amongst these...nor unfortunately the Testarossa owner so looked my car up and down in disgust with it's prancing moose stickers!!

Hope you enjoyed the Lake District. That's my "home." Not living there now due to work. Great "driving" roads around there.

For some reason my T5 hates the Lakes !. It does 70 miles a day commuting with the missus completely faultlessly every day but as soon as I point it North it objects. So far the front brake caliper has seized up on the way up resorting to me stripping it down at the side of the A1. A boost pipe let go on the way back (different trip thankfully) and in April it died completely for 2 days in Castlerigg campsite outside of Keswick ! (caused by a broken wire on the ignition relay). Were going up again beginning of July so it better behave itself otherwise it won't be coming back !
