It'll fit ok,depends what you intend for it. If you're going to convert it to a T5 then there will be other issues.

i just would use just the block and head, i would keep all my ancillarys turbos etc. would this be ok.

I would assume so mate,but never having done it myself I can't say for sure. They're a helpful and experienced bunch on here and I'm sure someone will come along and keep you right.......good luck..

thats the old style engine pre me7
youll need everything including the loom and ecu off this donor car.
stick with getting the exact replacement matey as it will save loads of heartache :)

i dont care what engine it is at long as it fits and runs. not bothered about the hole t5 thing. as its just a run about car there just seems to be more 850 t5 lumps about.

If it's already got a 2.4 lump in it then just replace like for like that way you wont have all the additional headache's of trying to get it plumbed in properly. Give places like Salvo or Reedview a call they're always breaking Volvo's and will probably have a suitable engine in for you.
