i got ripped off

battery was flat on the car so put another one in today
the stereo needed a code which i've lost so went up to vovlo
they charged me £11.50 for the code!!!!!!!
it took them all of 2 secs to get it, shocking

That's very unusuall the last few times I've just rung my main dealer and they've told me over the phone.

The John Martin group are normally pretty fair.
I had to phone for a code to a neighbouring dealer the other week got it no problem.

I got charged from the volvo dealer in wakefiedHarrats of Leeds (before they moved to new premises) gave me the code unbidden when I was making an inquiry about the radio

i know of a few dealers who charge for this service, and the price seems to vary around the country, but truth is we have never charged anyone for a radio code and never will. we don't get charged for this info and most dealers wont charge you to provide it. if they do try to charge you then send me a pm with the full registration number and that will be enough for me to help usually. :)

I got my code from Stratstones Volvo in Oldham before they shut down.

I also got a bit of service history off Rufe for nowt as well, top guy :B_thumb:

Ray chapmans in York gave me the code FREE !!!!
but when I had a ford escort Ford charged me £15 the B@ST@DS !!!!

I had no radio code when I bought my 1993 850 two years ago and I called Volvo and they asked for a few documents to be scanned/emailed across to them, they called me back 2 days later and told me the code. FOR FREE!!!
