It could be a number of things either something leaking causing the cars fueling to be out what year is your car and does it have the obd2 or the unit near the ecu box

I think it was the 440 engine that had something to do with renault. Im sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

the cheapest way is to MBC, £20 off fleabay & set-up correctly with a decent boost gauge & you'll be happy. Safe boost on the standard ECU is considered to be 13psi, should be able to cope with the extra fuelling needs.

The T-5 engine is has been said to have been developed with the help of Porsche, but i've never seen any official prove of that

The CEL light could be on for numberous reasons, your best bet is get friendly with a local main stealer & get the codes read, you could be chasing possible reasons for ages

Sorry guys but the top range Safrane used the 2.5 20V.....that said,to the best of my knowledge it was borrowed unlike the old 2.8 V6 which was a joint venture between Pug,Renault and Volvo.

i believe your lambda light will be caused by little rubber elbow to left of manifold, i had same problem with high idle, got part from volvo tie wrap'd it on and light went off after 5miles.

the old 2.8 V6 you mention - would that be the one they put in the 260?

Sure is buddy, also 760 but a bit bigger in the 760 at 2849cc instead of 2664. The first modern big Volvo was the 960 straight 6 2.5/3.0. If you work out the capacities it appears that the 2.5/6 is the the 850 2.0 with an extra cylinder and the 3.0/6 and 2.5/5 likewise..........OMG!! I used to have a life!*!!!

can't say i've ever heard of powerchip tbh, but the original T-5 superchip used an internal chip to remove the ECU's boost limit & a MBC/bleed valve to raise the boost. I don't think they altered any of the fuelling or ignition so i would still be wary of going any higher than the safe limits of a stock ECU myself

The 5 cylinder volvo engine was built designed in colabaration with Porsche who of course have close links with Audi. Porsche also helped audi with building the legendary
RS2, I personally would go with is do a good point 0 and get it chipped VT, RT, DPA or whoever is nearest and reasnoble . In fine tune you should be able to increase power by around 40 plus BHP and more importantly 100 NM!
