Can the bulbs on the inside of the SC 805 units be replaced ?
2 areas of mine are dark, the one near the Power button and the other one is the numbers 1,2, and 3 buttons for the cd changer or radio stations.
Sometimes if i give it a tap it comes back on but its really annoying me :mad111:
Any how to linkys would be awesome :D
Cheers guys

You can get replacement bulbs from Maplins for a couple of quid each. They are white, 2 prong LEDs.
I haven't got any pics (and can't take any coz I haven't got an 805 anymore) but it's an easy enough job to do. And here's how:
1 - Remove the head unit from the car (make sure you have the radio code for when you put it back in!)
2 - Pull off the volume knob and EQ sliders.
3 - You will see that the facia of the unit is held in place by quite a few clips around the top edges. With a watchmaker screwdriver (or something just as small) carefully prise each one up and gently pull the facia away until you have them all done. The facia will then just pull away.
4 - The bulbs are in mini plastic holders which just require a 1/4 turn to remove them.
5 - Once the holder is out you need to unwrap (or snap because you are only going to bin them anyway) the 2 metal prongs/contacts of the bulb. The bulb itself is wearing a blue rubber shower cap (!). Take this off because this is what gives the stereo it's blue/green illumination colour and you will need to put it on your new bulb once fitted.
6 - Refitting the unit is reverse of the above.
Hope this helps. Hopefully someone on here will have some pics to help you.
Best of luck fella

It still doesnt say what sort of bulbs they are
Suppose i cant have everything :)
Do you think that if i go into maplins they will know what sort of bulb i will need ?
Dont want to pull the thing apart only to find they dont have any bulbs to replace them with.
