Would these go on my car without any problems?

Tyre sounds a wee bit too big but unsure

As you know, they are 10mm wider than mine, and will be a small amount taller, unfortunately I can't be any more help

Why would you go for a higher profile. something like 225/40 or 45 would be alot better for looks and handling.

Dave

i had 225/45/17 in mine and they rubbed when i had alot of weight in the car or going down bumpy b roads, there's a picture in my album with the car wearing them and i have standard suspension.

I would have thought its nothing that some spacers or larger bump stops cannot sort out and then the tyres are readdy for replacing just put 215's on

The wheels are 7J x 17 with 4 pilot primacy's which are 225-50-17.

All are legal with the fronts having 5mm and the rears having 7mm.

The Tethys were 7.5j x 17 and they rubbed slightly on full lock.

The only way to really find out is to fit them to the car and i doubt they will cause and major problems if they do rub just put some spacers on or larger bump stops

if its just the wheels your after then run the wheels and tyres and see if there ok then put some 225/40's on and that should stop alot of the tyre over hang you will get from the width and profile.
