New Grill - What does everyone think ?

Hi

Been messing around with an old grill ..fancied a change from the original !

Always liked black , I had a tin of satin black in the garage and a blue and yellow volvo badge I think its different .

Bit of a pain in the butt to set the badge in and fill it but i think the hour or so with the dremmel was worth it ?

looks nice that.. what paint did you use and did you sand it before hand?

cant beat spending time on your car doing things that you do cause you want to not because you have too!! sweet job looking forward to redoing mine it had quite a few chips in it after a couple of years.

only down side is the paint chips off quick
mine lasted only 2 months before needing done again

Hi Guys

I dismantled the grille and sanded down with a 1200g wet n dry just for a bit of a key. Ive had a tin of satin black which i sprayed about 3 coats . Once id mounted the badge and filled it ..... I finished it with about 4 coats of clear laquer .

Hopefully it will last a while b4 it needs re-laquering :-)

shame it cant be powdercoated as an eggcrate grill is pretty pricey
