hi
i have a 850 R manual and was looking for sum info on what the difference is between that and a V70 R manual

reason being is i have seen a V70 R that i am interested in but dont know if i will be losing anything so to speak
i know my 850 R has a lsd box and 250 bhp
i have heard that the V70 is not the same, can anyone help?

There is lots of info on the V70R in here (search is your friend). Personally I dont think there is a lot in it. Best to steer clear of the AWD version if you can as the power train can be expensive if it goes wrong.

850R was 225BHP with a 30 sec overboost - taking the manual out to 250. V70R standard map made it 240 standard IIRC - there were some 265BHP versions with a 19T turbo - predominantly because the auto AWD version with 2 torque converter lost so much through the tranny.

Toys and trim are the main things I guess. The engines in both are identical until the ME7 version came in in 1999ish.
If you are happy with the 850 - I dont think there is a lot in it.

Phase 2 V70R sports a 2.5 litre bored out version of the ME7 engine boastin 300horses. AWD too but with a haldex based system. Power trains and cracked liners on the tuned versions have put me off. Still a great car though.

the 850 t5r is 225bhp with the overboost feature which takes it upto 240bhp for 30 seconds, the 850r manual has the larger 16t turbo and is 250bhp all the time

the pre me7 v70r manuals had the 18t turbo and where 250bhp all the time too

Only the 850R ever came with a LSD as standard.I run n 850R & have also looked at changing to a latter S or V70R but dont see the point when its basically the same only a bit newer n updated?? On the + side good 850R's seem to be starting to get a bit thin on the ground & mine always gets folks looking at it when its parked up or driving down the street for that matter,id hang on to it for now:)
