Don't remember it as too bad. Tricky bits are you might need some specialist tools. On several driveshafts I've been able to loosen the nut then whack the end with a mallet and a suitable drift (e.g. wood) and it's popped out, but a recent one wouldn't shift and not many places carry 5 stud hub pullers. £20 from Machine Mart but it paid for itself in minutes.

The other issue would be the 4 bolts which hold the hub to the steering knuckle - they're the opposite of Torx heads if that makes sense. I think I got a set on a rail from Halfords, come in E12, E14, E16 sizes etc. Worth finding out which one you'll need.

Other than that, plenty of wire brushing and Plus Gas or similar penetrating fluid on all bolts which will be loosened. You are suppose to replace some of them, so if you're planning on doing that you'll probably want the bits from the dealer.

Oh, in case it wasn't obvious - a decent 1/2" breaker bar and 36mm (I think) socket for the driveshaft nut :-)

the hard bit is getting the hub (you change the hub with bearing) of the shaft after that it's a doddle you will need 1 or 2 torx sockets and a bigggggggggg 36mm socket half inch drive or similar but no really special tools i've done a couple last one i got from europarts bout £45/50 odd iirc

Not a difficult job matey although you will need lots of WD40 and brute force!! I replaced one on my last 850. You will need inverted torx sockets (Halfords) but they're not expensive. As I pointed out on a previous thread there are 5 different bearings for the car so I hope they asked for a chassis no. Good luck!

There's one for the old 4 stud and 4 for the 5 bolt setup mate. As you probably know it comes complete with hub. Seems the difference is in the no of splines. Should come with a new nylock hubnut as you'll need one. Keep us posted!!

I took mine off last week, but i have the smaller hub bolt version on mine which is a 15mm IIRC, all i did was take off the 2 bolts holding the strut to the hub, undo the ball joint, undo the 4 male torx bolts,
then with a mallet i knocked the hub bearing out of the hub,
