Would anyone be interested in attending the West Yorkshire RS Owners Club day as a visiting car club on Sunday 19th July 2009? theres loads of room & as many different cars & clubs are invited as can attend, its not a boy racer type event, its a static show at Nostell Priory stately home between Wakefield & Doncaster on the A638. It would be nice to see a turn out of volvos, there were 30 evos there last year and won best visiting car club. Would be good if a load of T5's crashed the party (but kind of invited), gazebos & BBQs welcome etc...bar & disco & free camping on the Saturday night if you wish to make a long weekender.

Should be around the £5 per car mark...........

Invite extended from a friend of the organisers. There are a few coming from the T5D5 forum. If the weather is good, should be a great day...............

I've got my name down on the T5D5.org forum (as I've had a lot of trouble joining this one) How many spaces are there in total?

Not been to a Volvo meet before, will be bringing my other half and daughter (kiddy do sounds good for her)

Anyone meeting up before hand for a run down? I'm in York (on the outskirts) or is everyone meeting up there at 9.30?

I'll more than likely be wandering off with my other half and daughter for the teddy bear thing.. But I'll be bringing my camera to take a lot of pics and hopefully have a natter with most of you.

Sounds like a good day out (barring weather)

No lol, it's slinging it down at the minute - maybe tomorrow if it's fair.. haven't cleaned the old bus since we got her. (has got some scuffs and marks on it, but not as bad as my last car). Want t give the interior a good clean as well - get some leather cream on it.

Got the old bus sorted. Cleaned the leather, hoovered and plastics all done. The outside was shampooed and rinsed off. Don't have any polish so it will have to do (it is a bit scruffy in parts so not that bothered).
Hopefully see you all bright and early.

Will give me a chance to take some pics - not got any of the old girl yet (just remembered, must charge my camera batteries)

Really enjoyed ourselves, it was good there was a kiddies do on at the same time otherwise I don't think my partner would have come (bit of a struggle for her at the mo as 26 weeks gone). Daughter loved it as well - lots of teddies to see and places to run off to....

Old girl scrubs up well..

Best prepared group there, don't think you can fit 3 chairs, a buggie and a picnic box in an Escort lol (never mind a gazebo!).

Thanks for the piccies, good to meet you all.

Had to agree with the marshall when he let us in saying 'go down there, you're with the adults'! Although there was nearly a ruckus with the Fiesta club whose pitch we were sharing when they said we needed to leave enough room for 8 Fiestas. In the end only two turned up. I suspect they were feeling a bit inadequate in their V reg 950 pop next to the Ricas etc.

Lovely day and some great cars, here are some non-Volvos for TC and anyone else interested. Got a few more might get time to put on later. Prefer the old skool myself, as you can see.

out of interest, what fiesta club did you share stand space with?

Dunno which Fiesta club, we weren't really chatting, but there were only two of them. One was a 1300 supersport and the other was a white pop. To be fair both looked mint and original.

I was a bit disappointed there was only one mk2 xr2 on the whole field. That was my first car.

Place was packed with escorts and focuses though.

Rhys

IIRC it as the Fiesta Mk1 owners club or something..
