electrical gremlins

i thought it was italian electics that were supposed to be bad but this takes the ****.
ive now cleared all the dash lights by resetting the ecu with my little homemade box.
but the tailgate wont lock or unlock atall without the key.
the fuel filler flap works when it wants (makes me look a right div at times)
the remote central locking wont lock the doors anymore but will unlock them.
the interior lights only work on the roof switches not on the door pin switches.

is this common or have the gremlins moved out of my alfa?

ive cured the door locking problem, its due to me using the knackered boot lock.
in certain positions this seems to turn off the central locking.

ive found another lock but from a saloon, will it fit my estate? are they the same?
