Stranded! bl00dy car

popped out about 10 last night to pick up daughter in town, sat waiting for about 5-10 minutes with the engine idling, switched off for about 5 minutes then wouldn't start :(

turning over fine, plenty of fuel but not the slightest hint of life, no spark me thinks... phoned the AA, agent comes out, tapped around under the bonnet with his screw driver for a few minutes (after he'd tried to burn out the starter motor of course :mad: ) even though I'd already said it's lack of spark...

so he says we'll just tow it up the road, no, no says me, 4wd matey, oh he says, disappeared to return with a flatbed a half hour later.

plugged it in this morning, cam sensor (damn I'm good :lol: ) and right enough it's gone open circuit :(

What car? I've probably got an 850 camshaft sensor lying around here if you need one.

2.5 lpt in an AWD, but sorted now, got a sensor off a NA car in the scrappie down the road for a tenner, 20 minutes and it's running again :)

the cam pos sensor is far easier to get at on the non-turbo cars...
