Get a HLM 304 remap www.hlmtuning.co.uk/index.html, only £150, basically a Rica remap at a budget price. Or just go to Kalmar Union http://www.kalmar-union.com and get MTE remap and get a Ferrita exhaust off them aswell, 3" stainless downpipe with race cat and then 2.5" back there after, then they can remap it to gain more power than just adding the exhaust.

Do the basics, new distributor cap, rotor, plugs, HT leads, oil, oil filter and also maybe get the injectors cleaned out especially as I expect your 855R has done some miles. Maybe then add some stiffer lowering springs to make the car role less and handle the extra power better.

If you want more power than that then you will be in the realms really of replacing Turbo's with larger Volvo Turbo's, custom re-maps, larger Volvo injectors, larger intercooler etc so would be a bit expensive, but you can really get some big power out of these if you want too, money dependent.

just a pointer, there are some later v70 rear lights with clear indicators up for grabs in the for sale rection, a straight swap and make a real nice difference.

Nice looking car.. :)

Carry out a stage zero tune or get it checked over by someone in the know to make sure it's all o.k. then get a stage one remap, if you have come out of a Nissan 200SX with 350bhp then naturally you will want the more aggressive of the off the shelf remaps so do the sensible thing and grab yourself a Rica 304 ;), exhaust wise the Ferrita is probably the best in quality but tbh price reflects that and in fairness there are louder sounding exhausts on the market as the Ferrita is more subtle. Grab a decat/sports cat and you will probably give your friend with the M3 a little shock on the straights ;)
As for the rest make sure you upgrade the brakes if they haven't already been done as the standard 280 mm discs aren't all that great at the very least fit the larger 302mm brake discs from the later Volvo's S/V70 T5's and R's all you need is the caliper bracket from the later car's and I think longer brake lines :) Failing that if your feeling flush AP Racing do a nice kit for something in the region of £1,600...

Suspension wise I believe Gaz do a nice coil over kit for these at a reasonable price and is certainly next on the list of "things to do" for mine :)

My plan is a rica remap and exhaust system for now, and will prob uprate the pads for some mintex jobbies just for the extra bite.

Nice car, the best colour to. Your mate in his M3 better watch out once you've had it remap and new exhaust. I had mine all done a RT Mechanics there really good on volvos, Really pleased with it.

Nice car, bought it from pistonheads? A big big word of advise, before you start doing anything on it, its important to have the car check over by someone who really knows about them. You may not notice a failing component but when you start re-mapping it will only get worse. There pretty bullet proof but someone in the know about these will very likely be able to pick up on a few typical faults.

Simon.
