I'm getting the V40 painted next week all the side trim will be colour coordinated, should I paint the new mud flaps and the door handles? Do you think the paint on the handles could go wrong?

I'd paint the door handles, provided it's done properly it should be ok, as for the mudflaps I'd leave them as they are, once they start getting stones kicked into them the paint will chip and they'll just look scruffy.

defo not the flaps, as tomcat says will look scabby very quickly, handles should be fine if done properly :)

Mudflaps: if you ask me it depends on the colour of your car.
Door handles: yes

My old car was silver and the black mud flaps looked pants, so the bodyshop sprayed them silver for me. Looks ace on they did. Didn't have mega problems with stone chips or anything on them (on the outside part that is) and they looked good for years.

However, on my volvo, as it's green, i've left the mudflaps black as they dont look out of place

Definately just the handles and thats only because you are having the side moldings painted, as for the mudflaps definately not that would be over kill..

My car came all painted (handles trims etc) from the factory EXCEPT the mud flaps and it looked pants. All nice and blue with grey plastic stuck on the bottom.

I got Volvo to do mine for me (£135) about 3 years ago and there is not a mark on any of them as yet.

HOW MUCH!!! I think when i got mine done on the old car, the garage charged me about £20 :o)

Here's a googled picture of a V40 almost like mine.

The painter doesnt recomend spraying the mud flaps but said he would do the handles.
