Its very accurate and looks pretty fine in the car too.

Bought from ebay, the seller has some left and is willing to drop the postage to all of our members, if you are interested have a look at:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7974534319&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

and email me before you order, ill tell you how to get the free P&P.

Many thanks to Simon for the offer :)

Cheers

As you can see it was daytime and the camera picks out some of the features on the dial, however it does the reverse when illuminated, its actually quite clear in the day, and at night looks stunning :)

Same as my one. Although branded differently.

Now fixed the tthhhrrruuupppp noise it made on full boost, by connecting the gauge to the t leg with the brass restrictor in, and not straight through the T.

Hellfire - I paid £49.99 for mine - this is value!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did it come with that pod Justin or did you buy that separately?

I note from the eBay ad that it comes supplied with all hoses and brackets etc but I assume the pillar pod is additional?

Where did you get it from?

Andy

I had a look in his eBay shop and he does do PSI ones too. He does a few different design types too.

Well I will have to say it may look nice but they are not accurate at all. And if you think they are you quite wrong. Your not going to get a boost gauge thats accurate until you start spending about £80 upwards, then you want to be looking at an autometer as a minimum. But for 100 % accuracy you need to be going for a DEFI Gauge.

loadsa £'s not controlled thru vacuum hose but electronically thru a brain so you have to buy that bit as well. good news is you can fit up to 6 gauges off the brain. And they look lush!

Whatever you say Bison

They seem pretty accurate - or as accurate as you can get with this type of gauge. Mine is showing I'm holding 1.2bar if I accelerate correctly. So works for me.

but thats just it, your measuring the vacuum/boost pressure of the turbo so why bother converting it to a digital signal for the brain, for it then to just reproduce it back to its original anologue state (ie simply moving a needle on a gauge). Surely the more you convert a signal from something to something the less accurate the reading becomes

Yeah its a bit extreme, the electronic guages with their own MAP sensor instead of a vac line moving the needles are more accurate, but they have their own sensor for one guage, not the overkill Bison has posted lol, and theres nothing wrong with a GOOD quality vaccum guage as well.

I sent off an email to the UK Dakota Digital distrubutor a little while ago, to see if I can organise a group buy on them. Paul's a good lad, so hopefully he'll come back with some good news. If not, I'll be picking mine up when I'm over in the States in June, and may be willing to bring a few "spares" back :)

US prices are around $80 for the meter, and $125 for the sender IIRC.. so UK retail, for the boost guage and sender will be around £200. I'm hoping to get around the £140-£150 mark.

I spoke to Dakota Digital in the States prior to the UK distributor. They told me to contact him - they couldn't offer any discounts over retail price. They've only recently started distributing them, so it may be something that's changed recently.

Oh well, we'll see what happens :)

Justin,

Your boost gauge looks great. I've been looking for an A-pillar pod to mount a boost gauge on my 850 T5.

Did you have to carry out any trimming / modifications on the gauge pod purchased from Volvo parts-on-line to fit your A-pillar?

Thanks.

Justin

Hi Justin (off topic i know) but can u tell me where you got your square tail pipe trim from??? I have 90mm round but i would prefer a rectangle shape to fill the gap better.

Justin

Had the rear end built by mrgollys in brum, cost me £60 to have new hangers welded on and that square tailpipe. Sets the back of the car off i think :)
