As i have my spanky V70R and a handsfree kit i decided i didnt want to screw into the currently spotless dash, so for the past week i have been trawling the net to find a suitable console to attach my kit to.
Many thanks to all the staff at http://www.neatcom.co.uk/index.asp?Sub2=1&target=8&id=2&product=1210
They had no V70 classics listed, but have run around and done the leg work for me, they do supply them and have catered for everything i asked. A polite friendly service and a bit of discount for me too ;)
I will keep you all updated when it arrives on Friday, and lets see what we get for £24.99 + VAT.
These are half the price of some that are available on the net :D

Justin,
Very cheap indeed. Dashmount are over £50 plus the VAT.
I assume they're genuine leather and the ones that fit to the side of the centre console / transmission tunnel.
I don't like the ones that fit over the air vents so would be very interested in your opinion on the new console.
You got someone to fit your kit? Or are you doing it yourself?
Regards
Andy

Err, sorry, just ignore my question about whether or not it fits to the centre console - I've just clicked the link and seen that it does.
Is the C70 interior not the same as the V70? Therefore, would the C70 console not do? Or is that what they're supplying you with?
Regards

Hi mate, the C70 one may well fit mine, but as i said they didnt have one listed for the V70 Classic, so i asked, they do have them and they are the same as dashmounts lower console one, ie just to the left of the gear stick and forward a bit in that corner.
Apparently they areclipped on and the only screw goes into the carpet for extra stability. They are genuine leather but they are apparently very shiny and they are going to spray mine and matt it a little, to match the "off black" shade used in the R and a few others. Will let you know the minute it arrives.
I was thinking of installing the kit myself, i removed it from my old T5 so it doesnt look that hard, but if your offering ;)

What kind of hands free kit is it?
I installed a Nokia one in my 850 and used a lead from Autoleads. Simplicity itself to fit as it just goes between the standard stereo wiring and the hands free kit. They are capable of being altered/adapted to suit other makes of phone kits as well.
If you need an aerial PM me and I will give you details where I got mine (£3.50). :)

If you haven't got round to fitting it before I get a free weekend then I'll be more than happy to fit it for you. Unfortunately I've got no free weekends for ages what with stag do's, weddings, conferences and the odd dirty weekend away I'm a little puched for spare time at the moment.
What kit is it?
As Martin says, it is sometimes possible to get a lead to connect straight to but attaching it to another power source is almost as easy, especially in the x70 because there's an accessory loom under the steering wheel.
I've just noticed you've replied with cark 126. TBH, I reckon you'd be better off selling it on eBay and getting a Bluetooth kit. Either a Nokia ck-7w if you wanna stick with Nokia or even better, a Parrot ck3100. That way, any Bluetooth phone should work with it if you ever change your phone (although the 126 is POP port compatible so works with most new Nokia phones).
Have you been using the supplied loudspeaker or did you have it wired through the stereo?
Anyway, like I say, if you ain't got round to fitting it by the time I've got some spare time then I'll happily come over and do it for you.
Regards

Thanks Andy, it is cradle swoppable, im quite happy with it however the appeal of bluetooth is there. I'll look into the models suggested.
I retained an older cark speaker as the new one supplied with my kit was :pants:
They dont make em like they used to, i dont think there is a radio mute facility on my car, however i may be wrong. I need the kit in ASAP really as i dont wanna break the law, but the offer is appreciated :D

It arrived this morning via special delivery, as promised.
Removed from a mile of packing and inspected. Absolutely fantastic quality, so off i trotted to the car to see if it fitted.....Like it grew there, when i say made for the X70 dash, i mean made, it fits perfectly around the whole console and as described the only screw mount is one that goes into the carpet. (They even supplied me with a sealed packet containing the self tapper)
Incredible service from these people, if you are considering buying one, dont hesitate....absolutely top notch. Here are some pics :)
