Engine management light.

Fitted a jr panel filter about 3 weeks ago and whilst out for a drive this afternoon engine management light came on.Could this be the M.A.F.sensor.
I"m wondering if some of the oil on the panel filter has gone on the M.A.F. sensor.Also discovered the engine diagnostic box is missing.
ANY help or ideas would be appreciated.

you need to get codes read first and foremost, if you aint got the black box behind drivers headlight? likely you will have the gizmo infront of gearstick by coin tray? dont think except maybe for genuine volvo dealer stuff there is a proper code reader but not 100% certain. but there is a way of making a home made jobby which seems to work fine a search on here will likely find the info. or jod on here can make you 1 i believe. but getting the codes read is the place to start.
i fitted a panel filter a while back (K & N) and had no trouble at all.
