Clock wont hold the time...

As title on my 96 850, the battery hasnt been out ect and the cars in daily use, anyone any ideas as I'm stumpted.

I'm not 100% sure about the Volvo clock but sometimes things like these use a small battery to hold the data in the eeprom when main power is off like a home stereo holding station presets when it's unplugged etc.
It is possible if it uses a battery that it is going flat. Maybe if you remove the instrument cluster it might shed some light. They're usually small button cells like in a car alarm fob.
I'll try find a bit more info for you.
