Hi all,

my car has completely flip reversed from the plugs being fouled with a load of oil/fuel to now looking like they are running too lean!! Cranked them out yesterday and they were covered with a quite thick white coating, checked the gaps and they seemed ok.

Any ideas?

A hard white coating is not always that bad, if they had carbon on them before, they can go white when that hardens off and gets properly hot. Personally i would fit a new set of plugs, check your leads and not worry too much. Take it steady for 100 miles or so after the new plugs are fitted, then pop them out and check the colour again. If they are very white its running lean, slightly brown is just nice and everyones happy, black and you have too much fuel and/or burning oil.
