still havin head stud removel problems,,on my 850 t5

dam head bolts ,im worryed that if i try pull any harder i may snap as there bending/twisting in the block, and as it alloys ,ive know bolts shear off when re torqueing the head ,,the reason im trying to remove the clyinder is because when the engines idioling ,its very hestatant/un evern soon as it above 1500rpm revs fine ,as i did a compression test of 2 of the 5 clyinders arnt showing a over great readings ,this was because when i fitted the rica ecu ,i filled up with the wrong fuel (unleaded)instead of v power as has the boost came in the engine rattled (like a advanced dizzy) at this time it moved both cam shafts a good quarter way outwards and the engine sounded horrid ,and after re timing it back and replaceing the cambelt ,,its never been the same since ,,,anyway ,,anyone have good advise of removeing head studs and tips for retighting the head down with it been a alloy block ,as ive known a few alloy block strip therds with minium torque

Remove the engine to remove the head bolts. Once on a bench and clamped down you will find it easier to work with. Once removed you can always fit long studs in place of the bolts which are usually stronger aswell especially if ordered from companies such as ARP.

To ease the load on that bolt do up the other head bolts and then just try and remove it with a 6 sided socket. quite often the broken part of the stud is easy to remove as they break due to time/ stretching and not corrosion

these plenty pf room in the rear of the bug i evern removed the rear and side windows for leverage , and dam things snapped , so was easyer and cheeper to pop another lump in all nicely back and wahed

Still love that car, it's REALLY impressive, bet it sounds good too.thanks but belive it or not its now quiter then a standard t5 ,,,modifyed a golf mk5 r32 3.2v6 rear silencer box ,, so now i can hear for noises instead of feeling deaf lol , i think i still pref the std t5 alloys , thow instead of them i fitted instead
