LOOKING AT GETTING A SET OF NEW WHEELS AND WAS THINKING OF THESE. TO GO ON MY 2001 V70
WHAT YOU THINK. ALSO IS THE OFFSET FOR THE LISTING CORRECT FOR MY CAR?

Here's a very quick photoshop of a red C70 with these wheels on - sorry couldn't find a red V70 at the right sort of angle.

Personally I think they look rather nice. :wavey:

Hi,

when I went from Volan wheels (17" x 7J wide, 43mm offset) to Pegasus (17" x 8J wide, 46mm offset) I found the wheel sat too far into the body at the rear, and rubbed. I added a 3mm spacer to bring the 46mm offset down to a 43mm offset.

So if your wheels are starting at 40mm the offset might be too small, and you can't add spacers to fix it - I worry they might stick out of the car too much.

Maybe some other people who've tried more wheels than me can offer more concrete advice...

If they only have one part number for the wheel i.e. if the wheel is only stocked in one size, offset, centre bore etc. then I forsee a small problem.

The later cars - s40/v50/c30 etc have a smaller centre bore than the bigger/older cars. They either won't fit your car or they will require a centring ring on the newer cars.

Great if they fit - purgatory if they don't. Check carefully the offset of your existing wheels. Wider wheels with less offset stick out further - great for steering lock not so great for fouling the arches.

Wheels that fit, fit. Wheels that need to be made to fit are a bloody pain in the a*se!

Hmm, I'm not overly taken by them myself... but to each their own!

19" rims will give the car a nice look, but the ride will be rough!

I'd say 18"s as a max due to the weight of our cars, they hit the deck hard on 18's as I have tried them.

17's are quite comfy, but 19's would just hurt!

Have you looked at the rims available for XC90's? they fit & go up to 20", but again, smaller profile rubber = ouch!

The tyres on 19"'s will have no resilience to pot holes, you'll not get away with much with such a heavy car and no sidewall, you might even damage the new rims.
Shame because they look nice!
