Have you tried Listers in Smethwick (there are other branches)?
http://www.lister.co.uk/

They're usually good on prices (even got a freebie off them)

Last time I tried Pirtek, the guy didn't have a clue and couldn't be bothered, Listers were extremely helpful.

finished off the fastenings for the front bumper today. It needed some locating pins in the middle to keep it in place & to support the weight of the bumper, so made a 10mm spacer & used them along with the normal middle bumper bolts & drilled the holes in the reinforcement bigger so it would slide over them. So now takes less than 2 minutes to undo the 2 end panel catches & pull the bumper off, takes a bit longer to slide on but nothing too bad

think all the panels have quite major scratches from the cutting/drilling they've had, still not sure what colour to do. Took the bonnet off the other day & propped it against the wall while i worked, wind blew it over & it slide down the drive on its painted side, that didn't do it much good lol

If you fancy it as a really cheap and possibly effective solution I have the complete Decal set for a replica 855 Touring car. I realise that you have a saloon and that it is red but with some modification you could cover alot of the car and do a good job. Would definately make it unique, you can have them for free mate and can pop them over when I bring you the gearbox.

had another look at the high-level brake lights, i'd wired them a couple of weeks ago but kept blowing fuses. I assumed it was the higher current but even blew the 40amp fuse, got the test probe out & was showing a direct earth. Took the lens back off & the light was 2 tabs for earth, i'd put the positive onto the second one instead of a different tab onto the bulb. Works now lol, got to wire a permanent positive to the switch panel so they can be used as night lights for evening races at the pod

the reason the bulkhead one doesn't fit is because even tho they advertise it to fit an 850, the Powerflex bush fits the ME7 mount (which never came on an 850). Think the mount you need was about £14, i'll sort the part number out for you tomorrow. Not idea about the wishbones tbh

spotted one of these on the road yesterday & must admit i did like the colour scheme. The base grey was almost a lacquered primer, & i'd have satin black from the swage line (so bonnet & boot would be black). I've always liked white wheels so think it'll go well

thanks to Giles BT is now secure & locks, fitted a new drivers door latch & barrel & finished off the door locking on the rears. It may look like the door release but the internal handle locks/unlocks instead of having door pins, can only be opened from the outside. Also picked up the subframe from him & already stripped it down & cut the carbon canistor bracket off

tbh at first the second coil will be used for the launch control. The MSD ignition box i've got won't work with any aftermarket equipment, so when the launch is engaged it'll swop other bypassing the box (then switch back to the original coil & MSD6A once the launch control has done its job). I do fancy trying both coils firing at the same time but don't want to risk blowing up the box unit, we'll see

pay day so been & bought some more goodies. Got front brake pads, bought a couple of front wheel hubs to drill out & convert to studs & nuts instead of the bolts. Treated myself to a impact socket set as i don't like the multi-star sockets, & a nut-splitter set. The second MSD also turned up this morning

I put a £250 scrappy engine in mine last year just to rag the crap out of it all season on the drag-strip, i think he's got too attached to "Bonny" and is scared of petrol.

I take it the headlights will be present when you MOT the thing pedro... you may struggle otherwise ;)

Get it done by October and meet us all at Avon. Stop wasting time and money on MSD rubbish to replace perfectly serviceable Volvo components! You can do all that once its running and roadworthy as and when finances allow.

from what i understand, if remove the rear lights you can get a "daylight mot" but yes the covers are just for strip

took the suspension strut off while i work on the brakes, had to grind the caliper carrier bolts off as even the impact driver wouldn't shift them

The Flying Moose

Im guessing you spent all of ten seconds attempting to remove the caliper carrier bolts whilst continually glaring back at the garage muttering "oh beauty, you may still be needed"... upon realising that the socket fit on the 15mm bolt you thought "no, I just cant handle this". Out came the grinder, you stroked it into life, chuckling at yourself and with a cheeky grin on your face you began the process of destroying yet another component.
