first off, i'm not even sure why i bothered doing this myself. But i'd got spare headlight cases & plenty of sheet aluminium so made headlight blanks. I'm more than happy with the current intake so not putting that there, put the headlights back & leave the blanks in the garage i guess lol

haven't had chance to work on her much & couldn't be bothered grinding or get the intake gasket on so just messing about today really. I've got a few days off soon & hopefully get her running again then, got a few expensive things to sort for the MOT (tyres & windscreen) but she'll be back this year

we have a video, it doesn't end like it should tho lol. After a few minutes cranking i realised i hadn't heard the fuel pump pressurise. Bit of investigation & 4 wires coming from the tank were cut in the engine bay, looks like it had been wired thru the ABS so got to sort that out. Other than that everything seemed to work, didn't check the spark so we'll see once the fuel pumps rewired

could nt hear that in the video.....i know you know your stuff but where the fuel not coming up, is it not a pop of sorts....used to get this on my Merc 300ce on start up from cold ...take a while for the fuel to come up but as its cranking you would hear a sort of thump/pop for a bit until the fuel was pumping properly.....prob not explained clearly but until fuel pressure was there, it would try and start on the fumes causing it to pop but did sound a bit thumpy....after that explanation think i need more meds LOL ..least i know what i mean LOL

i get what you mean but not convinced, seems to much of a pattern to it & if that was the case i'm sure the engine would of sucked its own fuel thru if there was a way thru without the pump working. It does sound like a pop/thump of sorts so don't think its a bearing gone or anything. Get the pump running first then see what's up lol

yeh i cranked it over for a while with the HT lead off

bit of an update, found out the green wires are nothing to do with the pump i guess its the fuel gauge. Went out with the test probe & couldn't get a reading off the pump wires, chaced the earth & nothing so cleaned the paint off & got a connection then. Turned the ignition on & still nothing so sent a positive thru & the pump it san up, tried to fire it but no different but the pump pressurised afterwards so its all working now, but the batteries flat again lol

Think the nudge bar thing was down to the year of the car, ie when the nudge bar ban was brought in think if your car was built afterwards and one was put on then that was why it failed, something like that.......Tell the mot testers you have had the car from new and thats how the dealer sent it to you, said it was a special edition....LOL

there must be a fuse that powers the system, just not sure which one it is

as for removing it it is quite easy, just cutting all the wiring from the system & repiping the brakelines back up in a different configuration. We've got the bonus that because ours are early T-5's the speedo is took from the gearbox & not from the ABS system

fuse 14 & 29 are also labelled as ABS so might have to try a combination or just one of them. If the system detects a fault the ABS should automatically be deactivated so losing power to one of the circuits should be enough, but not tried it myself

brakes are standard size drilled/grooved with EBC yellowstuff pads, which work fine, except for the pre-mentioned ABS.

I have a fuel surge problem,so anything under 3/4 of a tank and it starts to cut out after corners.

my turbo would not boost over 0.7 bar, so I had all that off,now running an actuator of my old 15g on my 16t, not sure thats right?

oil leak from somewhere? ( i think my pcv needs cleaning )

power steering header tank leaks

lol no but it hadn't been removed long ago so probably not settled, plus the gradient it's on didn't help. She is on the lowered chassis option so lower than a normal T-5 lol. The back is blocked so can't move from full height
