02 v70 170 auto engine cut out

ive had a v70 for 12 months and in the last couple of months ive noticed the revs drop to a point where lights dim and engine sometimes cuts out this usually happens when breaking or slowing down, but only happens when in drive, ive tried it in other gears but it doesnt effect it in the same way. thanks for any advice

Possibly the ETM, does it "hunt" at idle at all?

If not it could be a fuel pump/injector issue.

The ETM repair includes a software upgarde too, so it may solve the problem.
