Hi,

i have found a Maf at local salvage place ( try and save a buck or 2 )

my maf number ion the housing is 0280 218 045, the one i have seen is from a 2002 C70 i believe, with part number 0280 218 088,

as this is written on the Maf tube rather than the maf itself, i am 90% the Maf itself will be the same, just the outer ( the holder ) is different slightly, maybe as it is a different model car,

can anyone confirm either way for me ??

Cheers

i cant help sorry as part numbers will be different and thats about the extent of my information. the problem you may find is that no one really would be able to help unless they have tried it out themselves.

cheers bud :D

i dont mind paying for new as long as it fixes the problem,

car runs sweet, but the maf throws an engine management light from time to time,
i have a cheap maf i got from ebay, ( i know, but someone said they are ok ), and when this is on it never throws a light, but can be hesitatnt on the throttle when changing gear ???

so was looking to spend £30 ish, more of a test bed really before i buy the new one :D

I have just had my ETM done, and revs are sweet now :D

now if i didnt have to get 2 tyres, tax the car and mot the car in the next 2 weeks, i would order now ;),,,always summat..lol

Hi. The bosch 0280218108 or volvo number 8670263
I have one in stock new bosch unit £110.00 plus the vat...

Maf should behave the same, the sensors themselves are fairly stock, the pipe fitting can vary slightly.

The MAF sensor can be removed from the housing... but it's more fragile than a glass chisle!

Perhaps ask the scrappy if he'd allow you to try the part to ensure it works (with his supervision!) perhaps offer a tenner to seal the deal, if it does or doesn't work! (just a thought!).

The sensor part may be the exact same for both... but they do love to change them about!

Found this on the bay... look at all the different part numbers!

cheers guys,,

that ebay one i am pretty sure that is the one i bought 6 months or so ago,,lasted about 4 weeks before it started playing up, i think its just a copy of the bosch unit

but the part numbers do look like its the unit thats the difference on the charts, or maybe just the year model change,

cheers

As I said, the sensor will be the same, the housing will be different!

Best plan is the scrappy! But like I said, perhaps get it on & test it!

Simon, is FRV about the only Volvo dealer that does internet sales?? Not aware of any others that do..

Tim.

I believe so Tim, I have seen some other dealers have got Ebay shops who sell at full retail by mail order but I am the only one I am aware of that operates full time on the major volvo forums, offering large discounts on mail ordered parts.

thanks everyone,

i am gonna try the salvage yard one, better to spend £30 or so and be wrong than 100-200 and be wrong,

its gotta be the MAF i think, as it only throws a light when the original oem maf is fitted,
but is running perfect now since having ETM done whether the light is on or off.
i just disconnect battery, and wait for it to come back around again..lol

when i use the cheap taiwanese maf it never throws one, juts runs a bit off.

i am going to try and get it this wekend , fingers crossed :D as the guy is only about 10 minutes away.

well it was 2nd hand

it was off ebay

it was £24

its fixed, 100%, i thought the car was 100% earlier after etm, but it has totally changed the acceleration on the car,,,:D

so, yep a c70 maf will fit 100%

i love my car again :D
