When i press the Tracs button on the dash should there be any lights that come on on the dash ?

And if not then how are you supposed to know if its on or not ?

Ive pressed it a few times but wondered if it was actually on or not

Cheers guys

When the engine is running, pressing the switch on mine puts a "TRACS OFF" orange writing on the dash. Pushing it again, the warning messages goes off.

Does the "TRACS OFF" Light up when you first put the ingition onto pos 1 or 2 for the testing of the cars electrical system before starting the car?

No mate theres no lights on the dash with that display.

Ive checked that the swith is actually wired up and it is.

Ive checked all the fuses and their all ok.

So where abouts should the Tracs light display be on the dash ?

Any piccys of the dash with the light on would be appreciated.

Cheers

mine had same problem when i bought my car. It turned out the abs ecu failed so rather than resolder the ecu the kind soul removed the abs and tracs warning light bulbs

Quote from 1995 Volvo handbook

TRACS failure

If the TRACS (TRaction Control System) malfunctions the warning light will come on.
It also comes on if the brakes overheat, and goes out again when normal temperature is reached.

The light to tell you that TRACS is turned on, is above the switch, but you knew that on my car

If you fit an ABS unit not for TRACS the light will still come on when you press the TRACS button to turn it off but only while the button is held. The car will still have the ABS with the wrong unit but no TRACS. It sounds like a lamp has gone out in you dash Cameron.
