Is this normal

Replaced the bonnet cable and lever and now opens, but!....when pulling it there's what seems to be a two step opening (for want of a better word). When you pull it it "clicks" open the drivers side latch with ease, but you have a bit harder to open the other latch on the pass side.

Is this normal...or do I need a new "link" cable (as I would call it) from one side to the other, as theres a bit of free play (not that much though), should both latch's open together.

mine works on a 2 stage opening, and seems fine.

LOL you think you got it bad, on the 850 i had you needed a masters degree in reverse engineering to open that bonnet... pull the handle, then twidle the bonnet catch lever at the front till it locked then pull the handle then run to the front again and yank the bonnet open..... took about 15 mins to lift the damn thing.
