As I was made redundant in the summer I'm thinking about getting started doing mobile valeting and detailing.

Are there any companies that specialise in setting up vehicles with the required hardware? I'm thinking along the lines of integrating a system into a VW Caddy Van. I've also thought of using a VW Touran.

Sourcing the equipment is fine i.e generators and water tanks but would prefer to get someone to fit it to ensure its done properly.

Help appreciated.

Have a look on www.detailingworld.co.uk (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk) - you are not the first person to ask about this.

Have a look for recent posts by Custom Detailers / Grizzle as he has just kitted out his new caddy.

He is a mate and sure would be able to help with any guidance you need.

I remember in the past meeting Grizzle and some guys from the DW forum in Glasgow , where a Colour correction demo was being done on a Ferrari 360 in Rosso Red. scary setting about it with a rotary polisher .

Proper detailing is a science , and very time-consuming , I doubt that many people would -pay £££'s to get it done

I just think in the current economic climate that joe six pack will be doing it for himself and the wealthier peeps have more than enough people clambering for the limited trade as it is. Strikes me as the kinda business that does not fair well during a recession??

Read the progress on his VW Caddy on detailing world, looks a competent job. Only thing I'd be worried about is screwing the wood in incase you drill through something eg in the floor- think i'll ask him bout this.

I went down to Kidderminster to talk to Chips Away about taking their PCC franchise. Was close but in the end I decided it wasn't for me. Their setup uses the VW Caddy van aswell.

Update-Been working away at this for over 2 months now and happy to say its all going well. Totally knackered right now as I expected but no way to avoid that.

Brought the website holding page to fruition this week and Martin (Baj on here) did a cracking job of sorting that out not to mention designing my logo from sractch.

Taking a well deserved week off now :)
