View Full Version : Rattle from gearbox clutch?

got a rattle from gearbox/clutch area, gearbox feels fine, clutch fine but i have a rattle coming from that side of the engine bay, thrust bearing?

havent got a clue the gear box oil was changed around 10k ago first ill cheack the oil level other than that it could be something internal with the noise going away when warm

Just had a thought when its doing it get someone to depress the clutch peddal it could be the realese bearning

Not always i fitted a new clutch kit on my old mk2 golf and the dam realese bearing rattled now and agian so i took the box of and did it agian and just my luck it still did it when was yours last done? i know myne is due for one but not getting anyslip at the mo
