Can anyone assist in identification of the original radio/CD part of the loom - its an ex police car so theres wires everywhere - not sure whats what?
From the first picutre it looks too me that the speaker wires have been chopped as this appears to be part of the main loom along with the other green/yellow block connector - the rest looks like plod stuff
Thanks in advance

if u go 2 radio shop or halfords they will do the lead/loom to convert the standard plug to (iso).that will elliminate the hi-fi wires.
then you can see whats left.
actually closer inspection of the pics...that may not work as you have a few stray ones there...what about a haynes manual.....or look at another car the same...

ok, the grey wires are the speaker loom...
the double black one with a grey plastic terminal is your ariel
there should still be a black socket for the main power/ignition etc. altough it may be that green one!
everything else should be ignored! cut them at your peril, as some are still live!

The green plug carries the power and switching.
You will need to cut into it to get power to your stereo.
It has a permanent and switched live in it. as well a neutral and other Volvo specific connections.
I can't remember which is which though.
I do remember doing this though.

Here you go mate, wiring diagrams for V70 2001 (one has the amplifier wiring in case you've got one) and a wiring colour legend

It's simple:
Green to yellow
red to orange
Then blue to bits - hahha
In my experience of ex-pold they wire up the left front speakers to there command and control centre.

Wow you had a centre speaker!!
In my V70 2001 I have a gaping hole where it went, in fact I'm after a replacement one now but there a swine to find on ebay, I got quoted 13 pounds for the mesh from my dealer after a painfully long conversation as he didn't know which one it was and where it fitted in the dash, after he told me how much it would cost, I told him where to put it.

Have you tried Salvo in Derby?

I have a spare cover, without the speaker.....
www.volvotech.nl sell the covers for €10 but I'm guessing postage will be through the nose!
At the very least I can sort you for a frame if you don't have one!
The speaker for the centre is pretty poor tho, & will not work with an aftermarket head unit!
I'm searching for an RTI screen with RCA ins & reverse trigger system!
Santa's a bam for not getting me one!
Let me know if I can assist....
