if you have a car lift it will be easy enough just dissconect the wireing down pie etc if not the best bet would be to first remove the gear box drive shafts engine mountaings etc and then lift the engine out we have a engine crain but ours doesnt lift the engine out high enough so the other thing we have a girder the height of the garage roof and with lifting gear get the engine out that way, only other way is to get a mate and remove the head and then lift the bottom end out manualy

It's not that bad a job to do, if you have a crane and a lift, it's a bit more tricky with the car low on the floor,
get yourself a haynes, as this will give you a lot of pointers, plus torque settings,

Make the job easier by getting the car high enough to begin with then drop the engine, box, suspension and everything on the engine in one go onto the floor. That way you can just remove the engine on the floor and fit the new one or carry out repairs as you want. You will need to get it high enough though so the engine can be dropped complete.

Agreed....
Out the bottom is the best way..., I have never removed a engine from the top, not saying it cant be done but i would expect it is easier attached to the sub frame...;)
