Give me a good reason not to spend less than a bag on a 960 or S90.

Are they horrendously expensive to run? Horribly complicated? Crap engines?

What's the SP? I love my D5 but my Passat's getting a bit tired and one of these seems like a good VFM replacement.

Get a good one, will run to 300k without many problems, get one that hasnt been looked after and it will be a money pit.

That's my point. It's going to be cheap enough that if it's FUBAR'd I can break it, flog the bits on *bay and scrap the rest. Put me off before I go and get one. . .

I had a V90

Good points - Very comfortable, quite quick, RWD, Six cylinder, Rare

Bad points - Drank fuel like no other car I've ever known, Horrific Handling, Look very dated, End of the line model so still using very old components.

I'd say no. P2 V70's are so cheap now I don't see the point. It will just be a money pit with no smiles to justify. Just my opinion though.

Cheers

If you can find a good (late) P1 V70 TDi it would be a better bet. At the risk of starting an argument I'd say the P2 is more costly to run based on my experiences of having owned both!

we had a 960 3.0 auto from 95-01. In this time it ate through 2 gearboxes. Think volvo paid a percentage of costs though. Otherwise it was very reliable, great sounding engine.
