Hello You Lot,

the bonnet catch on the passenger side of my 850R wont work, yet the cable still seems to be in tact and operating, albeit without operating the actually catch bit.

Anyone know any fixes for this? Is it a common thing?

Hope you're all well and ready for Xmas, thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

hi mate,

yes the bonnet catches are quite common parts to fail on these

number 5 is the complete thing, including everything in the diagram (except number 11, the retaining bolts). If you inspect it and find the problem to be a part you can see is shown separately in that diagram let me know and i can tell you the price of it, otherwise if you want to go for the whole lot, here is the quote for that -

BONNET CATCH:

Our Price: £28.62 inc vat, plus postage
Postage: £2.35 Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded Delivery
NOTE: Next date for us posting parts out will be Monday 05.01.09

Thanks Rufe, much appreciated. :)

I'll have a look, though I was really rather hoping that some one would post 'coat it in WD and jobs a good 'un' or something :(

I think you should actually try that, it might just need a bit of lube!
