i have a C70 t5 1998, manual same running gear as a 850 t5 a volvo specialist is telling me that the problem i have is found in some early c70 cars and a lot of 850 t5 cars???
my problem is from cold starts instantly, but when warm, turn off the engine and try and re start it within 30 seconds it splutters and dies, try this up to thre times and it starts!!!
i have changed loads of things cam sensor all ignition system fuel filter throttle postion switch but still have this problem.
i also own an 850r auto and no such problems on this vehicle.
is this garage having me on???

There is a problem with 850's doing this from memory, I've not had one with the problem but I know there have been many on here over the years

Usually either the fuel pump relay, or the ignition switch on the end of the barrel.

My old M reg 850 used to do it when warm, i think it was put down as something it just did rather than something wrong with it ( it was only 4 yrs old then)

sounds like an issue I had with the immobiliser antenna ring/pick up on the ignition.. but you said you've changed that so.. not too sure?..

EDIT: this might help?:

c70's do this if you leave the keys in the ignition for a period of time the immobilizer cuts back in.

Next time try taking the keys out the ignition and pressing the unlock button on the remote then try starting.

Also if you have any other car keys on the same set of keys try taking them off.

These are the first things that come to mind with this problem 9/10 times this will fix it.

Let me know how you get on?
