Hi Welcome aboard!!!
Ever had a T5 before? Second hand T5's are the best as you dont have the depreciation hit  We will need to see pics when you get it and be nice if we could see you at a meet sometime!

Hey Guys, thanx for the welcome.. :)
Covcrew, aint that the truth. Spose it aint really sunk in yet, as it will be the newest, most expensive car I ever bought, so It wont really sink in til I see it parked up outside my house.. LOL
Dave, I havent got a clue mate.. Its a 2.4 (I think!!) 5 speed manual.. would that be the Geartronic I keep reading about??..
Here ya go Mrsmopp.. Ive added some pics for you and the rest of you.. I took them after my test drive.. and said I'll Take it.. LOL..
Nope, never owed a Volvo before, but drive Volvo trucks for a living. My dad had a few 245DL estates years ago, does that count??.. LOL
As fot it being a baby, yeah, I spose it is. As I say, its the newest car Ive ever bought.. I normally go for the bangers that should last 6 months and end up keeping them years.. LOL..

certainly am Bakey.. cant wait mate..
They are do the full works on it at the mo. being second hand, there were a few bits that I wasnt happy with. The nearside alloys were a bit kurbed, so they are getting all the wheels refurbed, a couple of scratches that are getting sorted.. so roll on saturday.. hee hee

Monday 15th November 2004, 20:37
Easiest mod will be a rica remap, 310bhp under your right foot makes you grin like you have never seen :)

Its true tho..... I modded the arse outta my Primera and promised I wouldnt touch the Ovlov (that was a bit of wishful thinkin now wasnt it!!!) besides it should have more than enough power not to need too.......
1 month down the line and the train of thought has now de-railed and started steaming down the endless Mod track without a driver!!!!!!!

Red ones are quick - but i do like your S60 - sweet car mate!!
Stick RICA on her - that's all you'll ever need (and some ferodo DS Pads).

Ooooo baby.. ooooo..
Just looking at the www.volvotuninguk.com (http://www.volvotuninguk.com) website.. Thats one hell of an upgrade.. 250bhp to 310???... jeez
what would just the chip upgrade be on its own??.. just seen the offer to users of this forum, and the £850 performace package.. :worship: Mmmmm...
Justin
Tuesday 16th November 2004, 20:12
Sadly that offer is for pre 98 models, not the S60, however the normal price is about £575 INC VAT but i may be able to get you some discount....get the car and we shall see ;)
It would transform the car from a driveable car with ample power to a herd of wild horses when you plant your right foot ;)

Oh man, this week is draggin' so much.. but still.. 3 days til I take delivery.. hee hee.
Okay Justin, thanx.. I'll wait and get the car first, might be a good idea eh??.. LOL but then, that is something that I might just invest in. what about the brakes, would they need uprating too?, or would they be able to take the extra power??
Justin
Tuesday 16th November 2004, 20:35
That depends on how hard you drive the car, the disks should be fine, just uprated pads would be ideal, again, VT stock the best pads i have ever felt.
See what you think as standard then look at the mods ;)

Yeah, another good idea.
As I said before this will be the newest car Ive ever owned. I'm driving a 2.0l Sierra XR4x4 at the moment, and before that was a couple of 1.6i ghia orions, and a couple of minis.. LOL.. this will be the first motor Ive had with a Turbo, and performance like this, so I better get use to it first.
Its always the same though, when ever ya get a new car, everyone starts looking at what they can do to it..
One thing I would like to do is maybe make the front end a bit more sportier in the styling.. is there any after market bumpers or skirts available??.. dont get me wrong, I'm not looking at anything drastic, but something subtle like a front splitter etc..
Justin
Tuesday 16th November 2004, 21:07
I believe there is an after market grill available, but you could always make your own, buy some mesh and cut out the volvo bits, them replace the badge.....
Like you said, get used to a turbo charged car first, the power will astound you, its not the take off, its the mid range torque and the 3rd gear that goes on, and on and on and on, just pulls like a train ;)
