My servive light has been on for the last month or so - I had a full service and stage 0 completed a couple of weeks ago.

I ordered my Draper Service Light Reset Tool on Saturday and it arrived today. Two seconds later and the service light was reset. Pretty good piece of kit - comes with various dip switches for different configuration (covers SAABS and the air bag light as well I think).

I got mine from here:

If you are unfortunate enough to have a Volvo service light that cannot be reset manually (and don't have VADIS/VCT2000 or VOL-FCR) - then this would be worth the investment IMHO as the last time my local stealers charged me £25!! :(

I think this tool will be able to do it.. but I've got a link on my home PC that shows which can be done manually.. I'll check when I get home tonight (if no one replies in the meantime).. :)

What model/year did you use the tool on?

I use the mileage trip reset button to reset my service light (98 V70).

It's a 1998 Volvo C70 T5 (pre ME7) - one of the few models that the trip button doesn't work on! :(

This is the link I was referring to before:

It's not quite accurate - but gives a rough idea..

If you have the diagnostics module under the bonnet then you can do it manually.

If pre-ME7,I would suspect it to have the OBD2. Not sure about this one as my gizmo has listings for S70/V70 but not the coupe. Also does S40/V40 and 850 and the airbag light on a Saab as previously mentioned. HTH!!
