Replacing Keyfob battery

My keyfob no longer unlocks my car - I suspect the batteries need replacing - can I just swap the battery out with a new one or do I need to re-sync the keyfob with the car? If so how would I do this?

I have a M-Reg 850 T5, 2 button keyfob.

Just replace the battery as it is the relay in the car which is synchronised to the fob and not vice versa
