I've foolishly agreed to tow my mate to a garage tomorrow morning using my towing 'bar'.

I've just been trying to figure out where the rear towing eye screws in. I pull the flap down on the right of the bumper and am faced with the end of my towbar beam- there is no hole to screw my (unused) eye into.

Now I know I've not fitted my towbar incorrectly so WTF is going on? Have they forgot to fit the orifice in the factory or does fitting a tow bar cover the hole up?

Anyone want to go out and look at theirs for me? please :)

Just been and had a look at mine (no towbar fitted), removed cover and threaded hole visible.

Cheers mate. I can only think with a tow bar fitted you wouldn't need to use the towing eye so the beam covers it up. Doesn't seem right though.

Looked at mine which has a volvo towbar on it and in the hole behind cover is the towbar box section,,, no holes for towing eyes. Hope that helps. could take pic if its of any help to you.

PHEW! Thanks for that, was worried I'd fitted the towbar round the wrong way. Shame as my 'towing bar' is designed to clip onto towing eyes- the clips are too small to fit around the tow bar hitch.
