Hi,

I am planning on changing my front brake pads in the morning. I have an S80 , 2002.

I think I have the general idea of what to do but just reading and article on the tinternet then and it got me thinking. Apperently with some cars you cant push the piston back in but have turn "screw" it back in?

Does anyone know what I should expect with the s80. Can I just push it back or do I need to screw it and possibly buy a special tool to do this.

Any other advise, would be greatly appreciated espcially if you can forewarn me of anything I may break whilst doing it.

Thanks in advance

Dave.

I *think* they push straight back, but I use a 'G' clamp anyway that applies some rotation so I'm not 100% certain. Check the orientation of the caliper spring before you remove it- it can be put back on in a position that looks right but isn't- it's caught a few people out.

I believe its only the rear pistons that are twist in.

Thanks for the input.

I did it saturday morning and all went well. They just pushed back in.

Yes, confirmed, rear pistons require a twist on them as they go in.

Brute force vs. screw.... screw wins by default....
