why is the estate btcc got the R titans / volans ....? er different wheels but none of the R spoilers ?

erm, they are actually Tamiya models of the BTCC cars.

None of the real racing cars using Volvo alloys but lightweight racing wheels made by Enkei.

The estate was raced in 1994 on Volvo's return to the BTCC. They weren't allowed any aerodynamic aids (spoilers) & had to use production bumpers off the model it was based on (2 litre not the T-5R/R), unfortunatley Alfa didn't realise the nature of the sport & decided to make a limited edition Alfa 155 Silverstones which had a front splitter & larger than production rear spoiler to get around this rule, & went on the win the championship in there first year. The other manufactures kicked up & the rules were changed for 1995 to allow a non-production front splitter & rear spoiler to even the playing field, a new rule was introducted also stopping Volvo using the estate for 1995 which is why they started on the salloon

I saw a place a while back that had 3 of the BTCC 850s on its books. If I remember correctly they were about £20k each (without engine!!!)

I want one too!
