I'm wanting to change my top mounts as I think the are noisy and tracking etc needs done.

confused as to what strut Upper & Lower mounts is ?

Which one is the common problem?

If your tracking is out jase and you have a knocking it sounds more like you have a wishbone or both gone !

how much is a wishbone > ?


have had a mechanic give it a good look over and nothing seems loose or perished underneath, don't want to fling loads of parts at it with out better guess as to whats wrong

to answer initial question, the lower parts 8646713 are the more common parts, mine had both gone recently, (well drivers side was gone, passenger side was ok but changed them both).

i actually fitted XC90 ones to my c70, only went for xc90 ones after supplying them to a couple of people on here who recommended it, so thought i would try them. I'm hoping they may be a bit heavier duty. the xc90 ones are the same price as the standard ones for genuine, like i said i have no idea of the benefits but went along with it and no problems at all, so even if they are no better they are certainly not going to be any worse.

if I put a socket on the bolt at the top of the strut tower,under the bonnet

I get about 1/2 inch of turn on the rubber mounts. Is this normal or shold they not turn ??
