Right, this isn't a performance volvo but here goes :)

I have an N plate 2.0l 20v 850 that has just passed it's MOT with no advisories, but the lambda reading was on the maximum limit (1.03)

While i don't consider this a problem, the car drives fine etc, i'm a little worried that come the next MOT i might have a problem.

The car does have a very slight exhaust blow noise when it's cold, and it's quite likely that it wouldn't quite have sealed by the time the emmisons were tested.

Would you guys worry about this for next time, and if so what would you do? Somebody told me these are known for cracking outlet manifolds is this so?

Ta :)

Fast idle was

CO 0.01%vol (0.2 max)
HC 76ppm (200 max)
Lambda 1.03 (0.97-1.03)

Idle speed CO 0.01%vol

Sound about right?

cheers :)

it's passed, it's just if there is a likely problem brewing i've got a year to sort it out :D

Though i might need to change the Lambda sensor or possibly get a new/used manifold if it's cracked as that was stated as a possiblilty by someone.

The garage said it (the car)was well solid so i'm not overly worried, just wanted to clarify that the emissions were about normal
