Right, this is proper doing my head in now.

Over the past several months I've noticed a grinding noise coming from the front of the car whenever I accelerate hard out of a T-Junction.

I have had the car at my local mechanics several times over the last few weeks as a result. He diagnosed a faulty ABS pump. Last week he fitted a refurbed pump BUT the same noise is still there.

Anyway, a work colleague of mine happened to mention that there was an indy Volvo specialist in the next town from me (D'oh!). He's only been there 15 years!. Anyway, I took my car there tonight demonstrated the 'noise' to which he basically replied "that's normal, they all do that".

So, long story short. Does anyone else with a P2 have this noticeable 'grinding' noise when accelerating hard on full/near full lock?

The Volvo specialist surmised that it was simply a combination of the ABS working, limp-mode temporarily stepping in to protect the turbo.

What do you reckon? Please help. If this is true I've just spent a load of time and money "fixing" a problem that doesn't exist!
