Well - I would like to buy one of these if they existed, because I need a diesel for trips to Italy -

but I can't - not because they dont make them

but becuse the Turning circle is sooooo cr*p

Classic V70 was great because it could turn on a pin head - essential in Italy where there are some very sharp hair pin bends

So it looks like my new diesel will be an Audi :bricks:

a Classic V70TDi - what do other people think about this car?

And what can Volvotuning do do make it a bit more lively?

Cmon Volvo - you are an Intelligent lot - engineer a solution to improve the turning circle.

I believe Mercedes push the wheel on its side to improve the turning circle - is this true? Why cant Volvo do it?

You should chat to Adam at VolvoTuning, his Diesel S60 was pulling a 16 sec 1/4mile at Avon Park and still returned 35mpg...and if I'm not jumping the gun he's got more to come....maybe you could get one and give it to them to play with....result D5 TypeR.....

Thanks but I think my hearts now set on a
Volvo V50 2.0D > 2005
Ford/PSA engine when I can afford it!

I saw a V70 2004 model trying to go round a mini roundabout I regularly do in my Classic - and guess what he didnt make it - he looked a bit of a fool - cos someone was too close behind him and they all had to reverse back!

Adam can turn the
Volvo V50 2.0D > 2005
into a 180 BHP 362Nm model (seems like Ford/PSA engine aint quite the mark compared to a Volvo engine - modding wise)

I have found that "surprisingly Ford" Focus, BMW "cos they got such a vast range of engines" and Volvo are the best all rounder smaller estates for
me, performance, economy and (dare I say it) turning circle. Peugeot 307 pretty nifty engine tho.

So maybe the Ford/PSA engine may not be so bad after all - just not quite so moddable. (I am assuming PSA means Peugeot).

Dont want a Ford, dont want a BM - so that leaves me with - the V50!

Had a merc e270cdi estate round Belagio in Italy a couple of years ago. How I got it back without a scratch I will never know, Italian roads are just too narrow once you leave the citys and motorways. Had a bit of fun on the autobahns as well!l

Not when it is remapped. Adam can thrash the pants of his and never get below 39!
