I've been using this site for quite a while now and it is my usual port of call on a daily basis. With this in mind I thought I'd suggest a few ideas to make this place as up to date and as easy to use as possible......
Idea 1
Selling of Items on this site..
Would anyone who has sold or removed an item which they had advertised here put a "sold" (or other detail) post up to inform prospective buyers of the status. By doing this admin could housekeep this area and Archive/delete any out of date threads...Also the tidying up of sales threads that have a last reply of over 1 (or 2) months old. By doing this we could create an area where people would use this forum as there primary advertising location (after all here is free, Ebay costs). This would create a much more dynamic and upto date area for both buyers and sellers.....
Idea 2
Events and meetings..
Would Admin/mods consider the creation of a sticky and locked thread containing only one post that only moderators can update with information regarding VF meetings and events that have gained momentum and the support of other VF members. All the information required would be a list of planned events as they arrise with just a single line stating - where, When...etc....
e.g.
When---------------Type--------------Where------------Location---Who's coming----
2pm 1st May 2005 - Meet and greet - Stretton Fox Pub - J10 M56 - 20plus attendees
9am 7th May 2005 - Rolling road session - Chip Tuning Ltd (VolvoTuning) - Bromsgrove - 12plus attendees
12pm 11th June 2005.- Kick the tyre BBQ II - Dave 850R's Barbecue - Birmingham - 15plus attendees
.........etc..........
This would possibly save repeat postings of dates, times and locations.... All the threads then can deal with who's coming and the usual forum banter...

Anyway it's 3am and I should have gone to bed hours ago. I was just making a suggestion before I get strung up by my nether regions :insane: for making the moderators jobs even harder......night night.....
