hi there i own a v70R awd converted to front wheel drive by previous owner had auto diagnostic check on car last week due to fuel smell & engine managment light being on CODE po172 mixture too rich bank 1 guy did say relay was working though. can anybody tell me what this code mean & what i have to do to correct it thanks taffy

A quick Google search suggest :-

1. A faulty barometric sensor (o2 sensor???????)

2. 'Quote' - I had the same code and was going in the same direction as you. I replaced my front sensor and still had the CEL and the same code. It ended up being a hole in a small rubber elbow causing a vacuum leak. You may want to check it before spending the money on an 02 sensor.

You may want to check for air leaks in vacuum pipes etc also.
